Cobre Valley Center for the Arts

cOBRE vALLEY Center for the arts

Fine arts hub in a 1906 territorial courthouse

We are dedicated to the exploration of the creative arts.

The Cobre Valley Center for the Arts is in downtown Globe, Arizona. This former 1906 Gila County Courthouse houses an active art, theater and music community. The Center’s mission, as a 501(c)3 organization, is to advance the arts and art education in our local communities, as well as to provide and maintain these facilities as a thriving, historic art center. It has been lovingly restored and improved by volunteers over the past nearly 40 years.

The first level has piano and guitar classrooms, a dance studio and a display dedicated to Rose Mofford, the first female governor in Arizona, who was born and raised in Globe. The second level hosts several art galleries, displaying pieces from local artists, including paintings, prints, photography, sculptures, ceramics and quilting. The third level is a theater for performances put on by the Copper Cities Community Players, who display their talents regularly throughout the year.

The Center is a treasure and continues to serve as a focal point for art, theater and music community in the Globe area. You can read more about the history and architecture of the building here.
