Christmas on the Orient Express poster

Fresh off their performance in October, the entire cast of Murder on the Orient Express returns to the stage to bring you a song-filled Christmas celebration.

This time, it’s Christmas on the Orient Express, filled with the same zany crew of international characters in a play written by Jason Marr and directed by Jo Nell Brantley. You’ll hear your favorite Christmas songs–plus a few original ones–as the cast takes you along for a 1930s train ride from Budapest to Paris for Christmas Eve.

Join the Copper Cities Community Players for this holiday performance on Friday, December 6 at 7 pm. There is also a Gala performance on Saturday, December 7, beginning at 6pm with curtain time at 7pm. It all happens at the Old Courthouse Theater on the third floor of the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts.

Of course, detective Hercules Poirot (of Agatha Christie fame) returns as well, tasked with his most challenging case of all: Does Santa Claus really exist? Yes, it’s a “polar-izing” question for young and old alike.

It’s a celebration the whole family will enjoy. You’re sure to be humming these tunes all the way to Christmas.

Ticket are $25 for December 6 and $30 for the Gala performance on December 7. Get your tickets at the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts or by calling 928-425-0884.

GLOBE’S TRAGIC 1904 FLOOD – A DRAMATIC RE-ENACTMENT

On a seemingly tranquil August afternoon in 1904, the sky above the Pinal Mountains darkened as a fierce summer storm unleashed an extraordinary flood, transforming the once-dry Pinal Creek into a torrent of fast-moving water.

Six unsuspecting Globe residents who lived along the creek faced a terrifying fate as this flash flood swept them away. Each of these victims has their own their own unique story to tell, reimagined and performed by the Copper Cities Community Players.

Join us for two performances on October 12 at 1pm and 2:45pm as the Players breathe life into this tragic moment in history, reminding us of the power of nature and the fragility of life.

Who are the Copper Cities Community Players?

The Copper Cities Community Players are an ensemble of actors and performing artists from the local community. They began their stage productions in the 1980’s in Globe, AZ, performing at odd venues around town. After the challenging revamping of the old Courthouse, the first official play, “Twain by the Tail” was performed in 1990. Since then, various talented actors and supporting theater hands and directors have continued providing regular comedies, dramas and musicals. A favorite production has been “Justa Café”, a musical written by local residents about a famous local restaurant. It has been performed several times over the years and showcases the wonderful talent of the Community Players.
